Data-Intensive Research Support
Support for data-driven and computational research across disciplines
The University of Alabama Libraries supports data-intensive and technology-driven research across campus. Our services are designed to assist researchers at all stages, from foundational skills to advanced computational workflows.
Our core areas of expertise include coding and research software, ethical AI, and instruction that supports modern research practices.
Our Services
We offer two complementary services that support different aspects of data-intensive research.
Research Data Services (RDS)
RDS provides accessible, discipline-agnostic support for working with data and research tools.
RDS support includes business analytics, specialized data types such as geospatial and health data, data management and data management plans, introductory programming, and exploratory or statistical analysis.
Research Computing Services (RCS)
RCS provides advanced technical support for complex computational workflows and research infrastructure.
RCS support includes high-performance and cloud computing, data engineering, advanced programming, software development tools such as Git and IDEs, and locally run machine learning and simulation workflows.
