Books, scores, sound recordings, DVDs, VHS tapes, and headphones may be checked out at the Gorgas Circulation Desk. Listening and viewing equipment is available for use in the Music Library. For more detailed circulation policies, see below.

Current periodicals and reference books cannot be checked out. They may be used only in the libraries.

Non-Circulating Scores Call Numbers M1 through M3

These scores may only be checked out by Faculty and Graduate Students. They have a loan period of 14 days, with 1 renewal.

Headphones

Headphones are checked out for 4 hours, and may be used only in the library.

Fines for Lost and Damaged Items

  • All items that are 60 days overdue are automatically declared lost, and replacement and processing fees, as well as the maximum overdue fine for the item, are charged to the patron’s account. If an item is returned in good condition within one year, the replacement fee may be refunded. The processing fee and overdue fine are non refundable.
  • If a damaged item is returned, it will be repaired (if possible), and the patron’s account will be charged for the cost of the repairs. If the item cannot be repaired, the appropriate replacement fee will be charged.
