Recipient, Julius Rosenwald Fellowship to University of Alabama, 1943 and University of North Carolina, 1944. U.S. Army, 1944-1945. Vice president, Twitty & Twitty, Inc., Cherokee, Muscle Shoals, and Birmingham, Ala.; Pompany Beach, Fla.; and Houston, Tex., 1948-1954; president, 1954. Chairman, Alabama State Planning Board, 1947-1951. Died January 16, 1994.
