Master of the grammar schools of the University of the South at Sewanee, Tenn., for six years.  Ordained priest in 1881; rector of churches in Atlanta, Houston, and Galveston; elected assistant bishop of Texas but declined the honor; elected the fourth Episcopal bishop of Alabama, 1902. Died April 18, 1928
