Children– One. Education– Athens College; Birmingham Southern College, A.B., 1947; University of Alabama, M.A., 1956. Employed, Pullman Standard Manufacturing Co., 1941-1943; U.S. Army, 1943-1945; Vocational programs of the Bessemer Board of Education, 1946-1947; Jefferson County, 1947-1949; DeKalb County, 1950-1952;  Birmingham Board of Education, 1952-1974. Died June 22, 1996.
