Education– Mississippi College, B.A., 1959; University of Mississippi, M.A., 1961; University of North Carolina, Ph.D., 1966. Taught at Davidson College, 1964-1966; University of Maryland, 1966-; Vanderbilt University, visiting professor, 1966; University of Graz, Austria, Fulbright-Hays Lecturer, 1968-1969. Published poems, stories, and articles in journals.
