Taught Library Science at University of Alabama, 1961-1968; instrumental in establishing the School of Library Science at the University of Alabama; associate professor at the Library School, 1969-78. Instructional materials consultant, Jefferson County Board of Education, 1960-1968; school library consultant, Alabama State Dept. of Education, 1968-1969. Executive Secretary, Alabama Library Association, 1978. Member of many professional organizations; charter member of the International Association of School Libraries. Recipient of many academic awards; a named fellowship in her honor was established at the library school at UA. Died March 20, 2010.
