Education– University of Washington, A.B., M.S., Ph.D. Taught geography at American University of Beirut, 1928-1936; Birmingham Southern College, 1936-1961; visiting professor at University of Washington and at George Peabody College. Received AAAS grant for 1960-1961 and Rosenwald Fellowship 1947-1948. Member Phi Beta Kappa.
