Education– Clemson University, 1926-1928; Iowa State College; University of Southern California, 1929; B.S., Cornell University, 1930. Employed as a vocational education teacher, South Carolina Department of Education, Madison, 1935-1941; farm supervisor, Farm Security Administration, Spartanburg, 1941-1943; U.S. Soil Conservation Service, Spartanburg, S.C., Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Hartwell, Ga., 1943-1947; Progressive Farmer, Birmingham, Ala., associate editor, 1947-59; photographic editor, 1959. Served in the Peace Corps in Malaysia, 1973-76. Died June 28, 1989.
