Education– B.A., University of Missouri, Kansas City, 1965; M.A., 1967; Ph.D., University of Kansas, 1972. Employed as U.S. Marine Corps, 1956-1958; taught, Mt. St. Scholastica College, 1969-1971; Benedictine College, 1971; University of Alabama, Birmingham, 1973. Member– Modern Language Association of America, American Association of University Professors, South Atlantic Modern Language Association. Honors– Woodrow Wilson Fellowship, University of Kansas, 1965-1966; National Endowment, Humanities Seminar, 1973.
