Biography:

Teacher, librarian; genealogist. Born– March 9, 1920, Bessemer. Parents– Arthur Richmond and Mildred Celeste (Bradley) Pearson. Married– Raymond Earl Higdon, June 13, 1948. Education– Alabama College (Montevallo), B.A., 1941, M.A., 1960; postgraduate work at Auburn University and University of Alabama. Teacher in Cullman County, 1941-1974, except for four years; teacher in Jefferson County, 1947-1948; district manager, Field Enterprises Educational Corporation, 1956-1957 and 1960-1962; director, Cullman County Public Library from 1974 until her retirement. Died February 14, 2008.
