Member, Alabama Advisory Committee for Vocational Education, Anniston City Board of Education, Board of Trustees of Judson College, Southeastern Educational Research Laboratory. Elected to Alabama State Board of Education for two terms, 1974-82. Honorary degrees, Gadsden State Junior College, Judson College; Alabama Educational Leadership Hall of Fame, Troy State University.
