FOSTER, HENRY BACON, 1863-1939

Lawyer, teacher, judge. Born– May 9, 1863. Parents– Joshua Hill and Frances (Bacon) Foster. Married– Jennie Hester, March 9, 1893.¬† Children–four. ¬†Education– University of Alabama, B.A., 1882; LL.B., 1884. Admitted to the Alabama Bar, 1884. Taught school in Gadsden, 1882-1883; practiced law in Tuscaloosa, 1884-; mayor of Tuscaloosa, 1890-1894; served in the Alabama House of Representatives, 1898-1902; appointed Appeals Court judge. Served as a major with Second Alabama Regiment, Alabama Volunteers, in the Spanish American War, 1898. Died November 11, 1939.
