Principal investigator of the Minnesota Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children.  Published many articles in professional journals. Editor, Monographs of the Society for Research in Child Development.  Fellow, American Psychological Association and American Psychological Society; member,  Society for Research on Adolescent Development; president, 2000-2002.  Received the Distinguished Research Award from the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Minnesota, 2009; and several other professional awards and grants.
