Biography:

Educator; college president. Born– January 16, 1895, Birmingham. Parents– Rufus Alexander Cook and Vashti Rosala Edwards Cook. Married– Delene Mims, August 28, 1924. Children– One. Education– Birmingham Southern College, B.A., 1925; University of Alabama, M.A., 1931. Served as principal of Fairfield High School; ┬ábecame professor of economics and sociology at the State Teachers’ College in Florence. Appointed president of Snead Junior College, 1942. In 1938, Athens College awarded him the degree of Doctor of Letters and Humanities. Died June 4, 1956.
