Born&#8211;August 29, 1879, \u00a0Hawkins, Tenn. Parents&#8211;Robert and Mary Chestnutt. \u00a0Married&#8211; Emma Brown. Children&#8211; Two. Education&#8211; University of Tennessee, 1900; Peabody College, M.S. Taught at Concord and Farragut, Tenn. Agriculture teacher at Alabama College in Montevallo for thirteen years; appointed Assistant State Supervisor of Vocational Agriculture, 1918;\u00a0professor and head of the Agricultural Education Department at Auburn University, 1919-1950. Retired in 1950 and went to Panama for one year as a specialist in agricultural education under the auspices of the Institute of Inter-American Affairs.
