Parents– John Lewis and Virginia Lawson Pounds. \u00a0Married– John Lassiter (died in 1943).\u00a0 Married– William\u00a0Bestor Brown, November 1, 1947.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Education– Randolph-Macon Woman’s College, A.B., 1937; Emory University, M.L.S., 1942. \u00a0Librarian, Birmingham Public Library, 1938-41; Birmingham-Southern College Library. librarian, 1941-44,\u00a0director, 1944-48.\u00a0With her husband,\u00a0\u00a0operated bookstore, The Book-Keepers, in Mountain Brook, 1950-75. Honors; Alabama Library Association, Alabama Authors Award, 1976; Award of Merit, Alabama Historical Commission, 1976; Vita Abundautoir Award, Randolph-Macon Women’s College. \u00a0Died May 26. 2014.<\/p>\n
