Education&#8211; Birmingham Southern College, A.B., 1958; American University in Washington, D.C., M.A., 1966; University of Alabama, Ph.D., 1971. Teaching assistant and instructor at the University of Alabama, 1967-1970; taught political science\u00a0at The Citadel, after 1970; served as head of Department of Political Science and Criminal Justice.
