Education&#8211;  University of Missouri, Bachelor of Journalism, 1934. Served in the\u00a0U.S. Navy, WWII.\u00a0Worked for the Kansas City Journal Post, 1934-1935; Mobile Press Register, 1935-1943; Merchants National Bank of Mobile, 1943-1947.  Founded Barney and Patrick Advertising Agency in 1947 and worked there until 1972.  Served as chairman of the  Mobile Library Board, Mobile Infirmary Board, and Gulf  Health Foundation.
