Employed as a reporter and editor for newspapers and press services in the Midwest and South, 1920-1937; aviation editor for the Washington Post, 1928-1931; military writer, 1939-1950; operations analyst with the U.S. Army, 1917-1919, 1930-1935, and 1943-1946 (attained rank of Captain); operations analyst, Johns Hopkins University. Member of the American Historical Association.
