C.\u00a0 Parents&#8211;\u00a0 Whitfield and Lucinda Miller Anthony.\u00a0 Married&#8211; Emily Baugh, November 23, 1847 (died 1867).\u00a0\u00a0Children&#8211;six.\u00a0 Married&#8211; Elizabeth Josephine Alexander, September 30, 1867 (died 1890).\u00a0 Children&#8211;six.\u00a0 Married&#8211; Anna Biggers Wiggins, July 21, 1890. Licensed to preach, 1846.\u00a0 Served\u00a0 Methodist churches in Alabama and Georgia, 1847-1898, with intervals of farming and teaching. Pastor of fourteen churches; presiding elder of four districts. Pastor in Sandersville, Georgia, during the Civil War; credited with convincing General Sherman not to burn the town.\u00a0 Edited the Jasper weekly <em>Mountain Eagle <\/em>for several years; and the <em>Herald and Georgian <\/em>of Sandersville, Ga., in the 1870&#8217;s, while working as a minister.
