Education&#8211;  Wake Forest College, A.B., A.M., L.H.D; University of Chicago, A.M.; University of North Carolina, Ph.D.; attended Columbia University.  Taught at South Georgia State Women&#8217;s College, University of North Carolina, and Birmingham Southern College; dean at Birmingham Southern College 1943-1958; taught during several summers at Eastern Carolina Teachers College, West Virginia University, and Emory University.
