Born&#8211; May 20, 1863, in Sulphur Springs, Ga. Married&#8211; Minnie Holly\u00a0, 1887. Children&#8211; Three. Education&#8211; Graduate, Chattanooga High School about 1880.\u00a0Worked as a salesman for Vance and Kirby Hardware Company, Chattanooga, 1881-1887; associated with\u00a0Smith, Echols, and Bennett Hardware, \u00a0Gadsden, 1887-1914; after 1914\u00a0ran his own\u00a0insurance agency. Mayor of Gadsden 1905-1906; on Etowah Co. Draft Board during WWI. Member Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce,\u00a0 and Y.M.C.A. Wrote reminiscences for Gadsden Evening Journal, later published as A History of Gadsden.
