Born&#8211;  March 5, 1898, in Dahlonega, Ga.  Parents&#8211;  Elias Benton and Etta  (McMillan) Vickery.  Education&#8211;  North Georgia College, A.B., 1918; George Peabody College, A.M., 1919; Ph.D., 1929.  Taught English and Latin in Millington, Tenn, 1919-1922; psychology at Alabama College (University of Montevallo), 1922-1948; Chairperson, Dept. of Psychology, 1948-1968.  Visiting professor, University of Alabama and Furman University.  Served on the Governor&#8217;s Commission on the Status of Women; the Citizens&#8217; Conference on Alabama State Courts; Board of Directors, Chilton-Shelby County Mental Health Board, Chilton-Shelby County Mental Health Center and Shelby Academy.  Member&#8211;  Alabama Academy of Science, American Psychological Association, Kappa Delta Pi, American Association of University Women (president, Alabama State Division). \u00a0 Named to Hall of Fame of North Georgia College;\u00a0inducted into Alabama Women&#8217;s Hall of Fame at Judson College in 1985.\u00a0 A scholarship named in her honor was established at Alabama College (Montevallo) in 1978.
