Education– B.A., University of Alabama, 1974. \u00a0Employed by Loveman’s Department Store, 1974-1975; Dalton Booksellers, 1976; copy editor, Birmingham Post Herald, <\/em>1976-78. Founding member, Horror Writers of America.\u00a0 Received Bram Stoker Award from the Horror Writers of America, 1991 and 1992; World Fantasy Award for Best Novel, 1992; Lifetime Achievement Award, Horror Writers Association, 2013.<\/p>\n
