Education&#8211; University of Alabama School of Law, 1923-1924; LL.B., 1925, \u00a0Birmingham School of Law. Admitted to the Alabama Bar, 1924; established a private practice and served as Assistant City Attorney in Birmingham. Joined a legal firm in Birmingham in 1925; judge in the 10th Judicial Circuit in Alabama, 1927-1977; presiding judge, 1946-1965; faculty of Birmingham School of Law, 1947-1972; Samford University, Cumberland School of Law after 1965; lecturer in medical jurisprudence at the Medical College of Alabama, 1946-1965.
