Married&#8211;James Farrar Burns, November 20, 1988. Education&#8211; Alabama College (Montevallo), B.A., 1941, M.A., 1960; postgraduate work at Auburn University and University of Alabama. Teacher in Cullman County, 1941-1974, except for four years; teacher in Jefferson County, 1947-1948; district manager, Field Enterprises Educational Corporation, 1956-1957 and 1960-1962; director, Cullman County Public Library from 1974 until her retirement in 1983.
