Economist; university professor. Born– June 4, 1950, in Bridgeport, Conn. Parents– L. M. and R. E. (Ledbetter) Holcombe.\u00a0 Married–Lora Hunt Pritchett, June 18, 1983. Education– University of Florida, B.S., 1972; Virginia Polytechnic Institute, M.A., 1974; Ph.D., 1976. Employed by Center for Naval Analysis, 1973-1975; taught at Texas A & M University, 1975-1977; Auburn University, 1977-88; Florida State University, 1988- . Published numerous articles in professional journals; served\u00a0in multiple editorial positions. Earhart Foundation Fellow, 1979, 1980, and 1983.\u00a0Research Fellow, Independent Institute; \u00a0Senior Fellow, James Madison Institute. Worked on staff of Senator William Brock of Tennessee, 1974; member of Florida Governor Jeb Bush’s Council of Economic Advisors, 2000-2006. Member, Public Choice Society, Society for the Development of Austrian Economics.\u00a0 Awarded Ludwig von Mises Prize, 1992; Undergraduate Teaching Award, FSU, 1994.<\/p>\n
