Grew up in Scottsboro, Ala. Married&#8211; Mary Anne Stahler, 1950.\u00a0 Children&#8211;three. \u00a0Education&#8211; Baylor School in Chattanooga; University of Virginia, B.A., 1949. U.S. Army Air Corps, WWII;\u00a0 awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster. Employed as a copy editor\u00a0by the Chattanooga Times, 1949-51. \u00a0Author of 28 short stories,\u00a0 published in national magazines including Colliers, Cosmopolitan, Argosy, Collier, and Esquire.
