Served as a consultant to several environmental organizations. Member of the Society for the Study of Organic Evolution, Society of Systematic Zoology, Herpetologist’s League, Society for the Study of Amphibians and Reptiles, Alabama Conservancy, and Sigma Xi. Received many teaching awards; had several native species named in his honor.\u00a0 Died December 14, 2007.<\/p>\n
