Taught school in Gadsden, 1882-1883; practiced law in Tuscaloosa, 1884-86; Elected County Solicitor, 1886-1890, 1901-03; mayor of Tuscaloosa, 1890-1894; served in the Alabama House of Representatives, 1898-1902;\u00a0 judge of the 6th Judicial Circuit, 1903-1923; appointed Appeals Court judge in 1923. Served as a major with Second Alabama Regiment, Alabama Volunteers, in the Spanish American War, 1898. Died November 11, 1939.<\/p>\n
