Education&#8211; Birmingham Southern College, B.A., 1925; University of Alabama, M.A., 1931. Served as principal of Fairfield High School; \u00a0became professor of economics and sociology at the State Teachers&#8217; College in Florence. Appointed president of Snead Junior College, 1942. In 1938, Athens College awarded him the degree of Doctor of Letters and Humanities.
