Served in the U.S.Army in the Korean Conflict. Was Chief of the Geology Division, Geological Survey of Alabama after 1974; Assistant State Geologist at the time of his death. Helped compile the Geologic Map of Alabama,1989. Member, Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society; charter member, Alabama Geological Society.
