Education&#8211; Georgetown College, Kentucky, for two years.\u00a0 Served in Co. H., 37th Mississippi Infantry, CSA. Ordained into the Baptist ministry, 1870; Corresponding secretary; Baptist Mission Board of Alabama for twenty eight years; editor of the Alabama Baptist, 1895. President of the Alabama Baptist State Convention, 1917.\u00a0 Trustee, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.\u00a0 President, Anti-Saloon League of Alabama.
