Education&#8211; attended Port Arthur College, Tex., 1946-1947; University of Florida, B.S., 1952.\u00a0 Served in U.S. Army Air Corps, WWII. Worked for Century Geophysics Corporation in Tulsa, 1952-1954.; radioactivity logging operator for Welex Corporation in Fort Worth, 1954-1955; a radio broadcasting technician in Bessemer, 1955-1956; staff geologist for the Geological Survey of Alabama, 1956-1960; head of the Office of Coal Research and a consultant to Public Service Coal, 1960- .
