Distinguished Visiting professor, University of Hawaii, 1991; visiting professor, Georgia College, Milledgeville, 1996-97. \u00a0Contributed to the Paris Review, Sewanee Review, McCalls, Redbook, Saturday Review, and to various anthologies. Awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship, 1966; Harper-Saxton Fellow, 1968; National Endowment for the Arts grant, 1976.
