Jeremiah's version:

Quality Control Steps

For photo and photo-like collections

  1. Every 300 scans, RENAME the current 'Scans' folder to 'Scans_Check' (adding a number after it if there is already a Scans_Check)
  2. CREATE a new 'Scans' folder and continue scanning in this new folder
  3. Repeat as necessary
  4. Send an email to Jeremiah with details of what folder has been finished

For book and book-like collections

  1. Scan the whole object (ex. Letter p. 1-8, or book p. 1-1000)
  2. Once whole object is finished being scanned, RENAME the current object-level folder to 'u000i_000000i_JohnDoe_Check'
  3. Send an email to Jeremiah with details of what folder has been finished

Kate's potential revised version:

Designating material for Quality Control Check

For Large Collections (more than 300 items)

  1. Every 300 items (single items, like photos; or compound objects with multiple scans, like pieces of sheet music), RENAME the current 'Scans' folder to 'Scans_Check.'
  2. CREATE a new 'Scans' folder and continue scanning in this new folder.
  3. Repeat as necessary. If there is already a 'Scans_Check' folder, simply add a number after 'Check' (example: 'Scans_Check2').
  4. Send an email to Jeremiah with details of what folder has been finished (labeled '_Check').

For Small Collections (300 items or less)

  1. After scanning the entire collection, RENAME the current collection-level folder to add '_Check' to the end of it (example: 'u0001_2008006_Cowan' becomes 'u0001_2008006_Cowan_Check')
  2. Send an email to Jeremiah with details of what folder has been finished (labeled '_Check').
