  2. derivatives (folder)
  3. get_derivatives_from_these_paths.txt
  4. readme.txt
  5. For a copy of the script go here File:Derivatron 2.0.txt This file needs to be renamed with the .bat extension to work.

[edit] Derivatron_2.0.bat

  1. Found at : C:\Derivatron_2.0 on the local HD of a PC workstation or,
  2. if not on the local drive a copy of the tool can be found on s: at \\Libfs1\share\Digital Projects\Administrative\scripts\qc\Derivatron_2.0
  3. This script is written in Windows Batch and is set to look at the Get_derivatives_from_these_paths.txt file to get a list of all of the root paths for s: drive resources to be copied to the local computer.
  4. The script will find all of the .tif files that are in the folders and sub folders of the directory trees listed in the Get_derivatives_from_these_paths.txt file. and then make a flat list of .jpeg derivative files from those .tif files in the C:\Derivatron_2.0\derivatives folder.
  5. The .bat file itself has commented documentation in it that out lines how the commands that are used work and should be helpful if the script needs to be modified or if a different script needs to be created. simply open the Derivatron_2.0.bat file in Notepad++ and change the lexer to BAT to see the script and the commands highlighted

[edit] Derivatives (folder)

  1. Found at : C:\Derivatron_2.0\derivatives on the local HD of a PC workstation
  2. This is the destination folder for all of the copied .jpeg derivatives

[edit] Get_derivatives_from_these_paths.txt

  1. Found at : C:\Derivatron_2.0 on the local HD of a PC workstation
  2. This file is the list of paths to root folders from which the derivatron_2.0.bat script will copy media files and make derivatives.
  3. This file will be cleared of entries after every run of the script.
  4. This file must be formatted with one single path per line followed by a press of the return key

[edit] filelist.txt

  1. Found at : C:\Derivatron_2.0 on the local HD of a PC workstation
