This software is made available to enable any institution to leverage our low-cost mass digitization model of manuscript collections, regardless of your method of finding aid delivery.

The development of this software was a direct outcome of the NHPRC-funded grant project "Digitizing the S. D. Cabaniss Papers" which ended February 28, 2011.

Current assumptions can be viewed here: File:ASSUMPTIONS.txt and current instructions can be viewed here: File:DOTHIS.txt. These files are also in the software package.

Item and folder-level displays provided by this package (for those not using Acumen) were developed by Will F. Jones, and the XSL for the EAD display here came from Tonio Loewald's Acumen software.  :-)

Your entries in the configuration file control information, logo, colors, etc.

To install, save the following archive file to your computer, and unpack it on a Linux/Unix computer in the area where you want to prepare content for web delivery. To unpack: on command line in the same directory, type in "tar xvzf UALmm.tgz" (without the quotes).

Sample test collections are provided, though you'll have to change the base_url, file_path, and digital_collection_link in their config files to adapt to your system. After doing so, follow the instructions after to view the collections online.
