Opinion Magazines:
- Fall between popular and scholarly periodicals
- Are good for comparing points of view. Look at a review of the same book in both The Nation and The National Review to see
vast differences of opinion
- Are intended for the educated reader, but not necessarily the scholar
- Offer opinions or viewpoints on cultural or political affairs, usually with particular bias
- Are written by professional commentators, columnists, and other opinion leaders

|
Opinion magazines typically have a narrow focus. Trade publications are another type of periodical with a limited scope.
