As an individual (not a team exercise), use the Compendex database on the Engineering Village 2 website and run a keyword search on the years 1990 to present. Examine the results.

• Look through the first 20 hits and determine how many of the citations are research articles, tech reports, conference papers and other sources.

• How can the search be refined? (date, Boolean, language, subject terms, combining searches, type of publication, treatment, etc.).

• Determine the controlled vocabulary used for your keyword.

• How can you obtain a full text version of an article?
