Saving work prepared at The Sanford Media Center's computer stations is the sole responsible of the patron. The Sanford Media Resource and Design Center and the University of Alabama Libraries accept no responsible for loss of or damage to Patron files. Before leaving a Sanford Media Center session, the patron should store completed project files or in-progress session files to some form of digital media. Media can be purchased at The Sanford Media Center. Non-system files will be deleted on a regular basis.
For patrons who have a large storage need (greater than DVD capacity) for a project in-progress, The Sanford Media Center may provide storage for up to three weeks on an external Firewire hard drive. There is a limited amount of space so it is provided on a first come, first serve basis. In the event of unavailable storage or unforeseen technical difficulties, The Sanford Media Center is not responsible for the patron's file storage.
If a patron desires to work on a very large project for an extended period of time, especially a long video project, the Sanford Media Center recommends the patron purchase an external Firewire hard drive of their own. The staff will help connect the eternal drive to the lab's machines during visits to The Sanford Media Center.
