Guidelines for Reservations

Patrons are encouraged to reserve time and equipment to be used in The Sanford Media Center. Priority will be given to patrons who have made a reservation in advance. To make a reservation, please call 348-4651 to speak with the Sanford Media Center help desk or e-mail a request to the Sanford Media Center help desk, randd@bama.ua.edu.

Computer stations are checked out to patrons in four-hour blocks. Computer stations may be renewed if no other patrons are waiting for a station. However, initial reservations may not exceed fours hours. The maximum daily usage of a computer station per patron is 8 hours. Equipment may circulate up to 3 days and may not be renewed.

There is a reservation system so that patrons may schedule times, in advance, for computer stations, equipment checkout, and instructional consultations. After 15 minutes into a scheduled time, a late patron forfeits his or her reservation. If at any time during a session a patron vacates a station for more than 15 minutes then that patron forfeits his or her reservation.

If a patron needs to cancel or reschedule a reservation for a computer station or an instructional consultation, please contact the Sanford Media Center at least one hour prior to the appointed time. In the case of canceling or rescheduling camera equipment, please contact the Sanford Media Center at least one day prior to the appointed time. If a patron does not contact the Sanford Media Center to cancel or reschedule and does not show up at the time of a reservation then that patron will receive a warning. Failure to show up for any additional reservations within a given semester will result with the patron's inability to schedule further reservations for that semester. Patrons will be allowed to continue to use the resources but only on a walk-in basis.
