University Libraries' Acceptable Use Policy-Electronic Resources
The University of Alabama provides access to computing and networking facilities and resources as a service primarily to faculty, staff, and students in support of their research, instructional, administrative, and other intellectual pursuits related to and in fulfillment of the University of Alabama's mission and to the members of the local community when possible. All users of the electronic resources located within the University Libraries have a responsibility to use these resources in an ethical and legal manner.

Creative Commons
Creative Commons is a non-profit corporation founded on the notion that some people may not want to exercise all of the intellectual property rights the law affords them. They believe there is an unmet demand for an easy yet reliable way to tell the world "Some rights reserved" or even "No rights reserved." Many people have long since concluded that all-out copyright doesn't help them gain the exposure and widespread distribution they want. Many entrepreneurs and artists have come to prefer relying on innovative business models rather than full-fledged copyright to secure a return on their creative investment. Still others get fulfillment from contributing to and participating in an intellectual commons. For whatever reasons, it is clear that many citizens of the Internet want to share their work -- and the power to reuse, modify, and distribute their work -- with others on generous terms. Creative Commons intends to help people express that preference for sharing by offering the world a set of licenses on their Web site, at no charge. The Internet Archive
The Internet Archive is a 501(c)(3) public nonprofit that was founded to build an ‘Internet library,’ with the purpose of offering permanent access for researchers, historians, and scholars to historical collections that exist in digital format. Founded in 1996 and located in the Presidio of San Francisco, the Archive has been receiving data donations from Alexa Internet and others. In late 1999, the organization started to grow to include more well-rounded collections. Now the Internet Archive includes texts, audio, moving images, and software as well as archived web pages in our collections.
