Supplementary Curriculum Materials:

This collection is available on microfiche and is located next to the ERIC microfiche on the basement level of McLure Library. NCSE is an organization working to defend the teaching of evolution. NCSE also works to increase public understanding of evolution and science "as a way of knowing," and offers programs to help teachers who want to improve their teaching of evolution.


National Institute for Science Education (NISE) www.wcer.wisc.edu/nise/
The National Science Foundation's National Institute for Science Education (NISE) was funded in 1995 for five years as a cooperative agreemnet. NSF directed the Institute to "address the totality of the [science] education enterprise, to assess its effectiveness, examine what new activities need to be established, what activities are no longer needed, and what new approaches will enhance science education."
