March of Triumph, handwritten score with lyrics. Inscribed in same hand, "Sincerely Dedicated to my Alma Mater The University of Alabama and the Famous Crimson Tide of 1931." This was published in the same year as "March of Triumph: March fox-trot," New York: Thornton W. Allen.

John Chancy Jay, "General Nathan Bedford Forrest as a Railroad Builder in Alabama.", 1962
Paper presented before the Alabama Historical Association, April 27, 1957. Focuses on Forrest's efforts following the Civil War to build a railroad between Selma and Memphis, Tennessee. Later published in the Alabama Historical Quarterly, Spring 1962, Vol. 24, No. 1, pp. 16-31.

Robinson Jeffers papers, 1904-1964
Letters, manuscripts of unpublished poems, first editions and printings of this California poet.

Robert Jemison, Jr papers, 1797-1898
Correspondence, fifteen letter books (1844-1869) and other papers concerning Jemison's interests in a saw mill, a flour mill, a plantation, a toll bridge, a stagecoach line, mail carrying (involving correspondence with Francis Scott Key), plank roads, a railroad and politics. Includes a proclamation to his black people (1865) and a similar proclamation by his father, William Jemison; records (1855-1870) of the North East & South West Alabama Railroad, comprising annual reports, minutes of the Board of Directors, reports of assets and liabilities and an index of subscriptions; correspondence (1871-1895) of the settling of his estate; and correspondence (ca. 1848-ca. 1895) of his son-in-law Andrew Coleman Hargrove concerning 46,080 acres of land granted by Congress in 1884 to the University of Alabama.
