T. J. Farmer family papers, 1853-1898
Miscellaneous correspondence, mostly among members of this Tuscaloosa County farm family. Includes a 1876 grade report from Alabama Central Female College.

Jacob Faser letters, 1861-1865
Letters written from Mobile, where he was working, to his wife in Macon, Alabama. The letters deal principally with personal news and information on the price of goods available.

Margaret Faulk papers, 1932-1942
Letters to this University of Alabama librarian and her parents regarding her illness and death; obituaries and memorial service at the university.

Faunsdale, Alabama correspondence, 1927-1933
Mostly from the town clerk, concerning parts used by various city departments.

Hill Ferguson papers, 1896-1964
Correspondence, clippings and reports about the University of Alabama collected by this alumnus and trustee of the University.

Margaret Gillis Figh papers, 1940-1975
This collection consists mainly of folklore and tales contributed by students in Figh's folklore and English classes, plus miscellaneous contributions from family and friends. Figh refers to the collection in bibliographic notes in some of her published works. Manuscripts of some of her published articles are also contained in the collection.

Self-deprecating writings about himself.

First Baptist Church, Tuscaloosa, Alabama records, 1838-1904
This collection contains a list of pastors, rules of decorum, the church covenant, and baptism lists, 1838-1904. It also includes an article, "Chronicles of the First Baptist Church," by Tom Garner, clerk. The material is typescript, but pen and pencil annotations are seen throughout.

Joshua Hill Foster papers, 1839-1904
Papers of a University of Alabama graduate, Baptist minister, planter, teacher (University of Alabama, 1873-1892) and president of Alabama Central Female College, 1869-1873). The papers focus on Hill's activities as a planter and minister.

Richard Clarke Foster scrapbook, ca. 1941
Contains newspaper and magazine articles as well as tributes to Foster, who died after assuming the presidency of the University of Alabama.

William Lovelace Foster letter, 1863 June 20
Detailed letter to his wife from Vicksburg, Mississippi, begun before communications were cut off and continued at intervals throughout the siege (June 1863) until the surrender on 4 July 1863.

Four Minute Men, Women's Division, Birmingham, Alabama scrapbook, 1918-1919
One scrapbook containing newspaper clippings and other materials about this organization, whose members gave speeches in support of World War I.

Paper titled "Jefferson County 1850" on the history of Jefferson county, Alabama by this Jefferson County native. Written at the request of the Birmingham Historical Society. Includes detailed listing of merchants and political leaders circa 1850.

Victor Hugo Friedman papers, 1918
The collection contains Friedman's personal and official correspondence, photographs of a camp in the Alps, his lieutenant's commission, his Croce de Guerra, and various items issued to him by the military. Incoming correspondence is arranged alphabetically by author's surname, and outgoing correspondence is arranged chronologically.

A deposition by three Kentucky citizens regarding an attempt to assist an escaped slave cross the Ohio River to join the Union Army.

William Fulton letter, 1865 April 12
Transcription of letter dated 12 April 1865, to his sister, Mrs. Theodora Fulton Pettus, describing the surrender of Mobile to Union forces.
