Digital Projects

Publishers’ Bindings Online, 1815-1930: The Art of Books

Awarded in September of 2003, this three-year, The Institute for Museum and Library Services (IMLS) -funded National Leadership grant-funded project plans to make available up to 10,000 digital images online in a searchable database on 19th and early 20th century decorative publishers’ bindings and related information. These materials are significant in their place within the fabric of American history and culture, and will be of interest to scholars, students, and to the general public.

The University Libraries at The University of Alabama, serving as the lead institution, is working with the University of Wisconsin-Madison, in this cutting-edge project. For more information contact Jessica Lacher-Feldman, PBOnline Project manager at jlfeldma@bama.ua.edu
