14th[sic]---Commences with light breeze from the South & Westward. 8 a.m. wore ship and stood to the North West. 9:30 a.m. Sail reported from the mast head a quarter of a point on the weather bow--we then hauled up and stood in chase 10:45 a.m.--overhauled her and upon boarding found her to be the Brig Altamaha having a United States Register we then sent Lieut. Wilson on board to take command of her as a prize.
