Eric and Sarah Rodgers Library for Science and EngineeringLocation:
The Rodgers Science and Engineering Library is located on the corner of
Hackberry Lane and Campus Drive in Tuscaloosa and is a component of the
University of Alabama Energy & Mineral Resources Complex. This complex
also comprises the Mineral Industries Building and the recently completed
Tom Bevill Energy, Mineral & Material Science Research Building. The
Library was opened to the public on June 5, 1990. Collection: Eric and Sarah Rodgers Library supports teaching and research needs in Nursing, Science(Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Geography, Geological Sciences, Mathematics, Physics and Astronomy) and Engineering (Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics, Chemical and Biological Engineering, Civil and Environmental, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials). Named in honor of two long-time faculty members, Dr. Eric Rodgers (faculty member from 1932 untill 1971) and Sarah Rodgers (faculty member from 1930 untill 1971), is the first departmental library at The University of Alabama built with the intent of taking maximum advantage of computer-based information systems for research. Rodgers Library provides computers for searching the Libraries catalog and other helpful databases as well as for access to the Internet.
